Between 26th November and 21st December 2018, in the framework of the UNINTEGRA project, the National Kapodistrian University of Athens is delivering an Integration Training Programme addressed to provide asylum seekers and refugees between 18 and 35 years old with capacity-building support for faciliting their integration in the host society. This training programme is made up of four modules, with a total duration of 80 hours. An initial linguistic training of 40 hours is completed with specific training on psychosocial support, educational opportunities and labour market orientation.
The interim meeting of the UNINTEGRA project was held in the premises of the Universidade do Minho in Braga (Portugal) the 26th and 27th November 2018. A total of 21 representatives of the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Universidade do Minho, the Fundació ACSAR and the Fundació Universitaria Balmes (UVic-UCC) attended this event that hosted technical and working sessions of the six work packages foreseen in the project.
The UNINTEGRA training activity, organized by the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and addressed to train social agents for the integration of refugees has been successfully developed in the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the USC from 16th to 20th July 2018, with a duration of 40 hours. A total of 44 people attended this course, which was given by specialized staff, directly linked to organizations involved in the support to refugees. The three speakers that led this activity were Xabier Rodríguez Orosa and Lía Álvarez Fouz, who work in Accem, an NGO seeking the improvement of the welfare of the refugees, and Araceli García del Soto, doctor with an extensive curriculum and experience in training and social research activities specifically focused on the refugee population and, at the present, member of the Advisory Committee of the Global Staff Care Program of the Jesuit Refugee Service.
In the framework of UNINTEGRA project, the USC organizes the course Training of social agents for the integration of refugees that will take place in the Conference hall of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela from 16th to 20th July. A series of workshops focused on social inclusion and integration are foreseen and being organized in the framework of the UNINTEGRA project in Greece, in order to provide improved skills to those people working or dealing with the real situation of the refugees.
During the first months of the UNINTEGRA project the ACSAR Foundation has been actively working to recruit, select and train the participants for the forthcoming stages in Greece to support accompaniment, empowerment, and activation of refugees in Greece.
